Developing services

The accessibility and quality of the help and services required at the different life cycle phases have a strong influence on the welfare of people with intellectual disabilities and others who need support with learning, understanding and communicating.

FAIDD offers support to communities who wish to deepen the skills and knowledge of their personnel, helping them to evaluate their own work practices and learn new ones. The learning process is outlined by using tools developed at FAIDD, including, for example, the assessment methods on functional capability, quality of life and service quality. The training and assessment packages are built so that the participants can make guided use of the gained knowledge in their own work already during the development process.

The consultants and trainers of FAIDD apply the newest methods produced by domestic and international research and development work in the field. They also have strong practical knowledge.
