The aim of FAIDD research activities is to carry out and promote human sciences research centring on intellectual and developmental disabilities, and on disabilities as a broader phenomenon.

The focal areas of research include

• accommodation
• life conditions
• the service system
• functional capability.

The research projects are often also linked to practical development work.
