Research and development are an important part of the work of FAIDD. Research is a gateway for us to keep up to date with development in the field of intellectual disabilities and changes in our society.

In our research projects, disabilities are primarily approached from the perspective of social and behavioural sciences. Researched, critical information helps to outline the perspectives and choices in the evaluation of services for people with intellectual or other disabilities. It offers a sound foundation for the assessment of various services and work practices and their impacts on the lives of people with disabilities.

FAIDD carries out basic research on the life conditions of people with disabilities and on questions related to disabilities as well as applied research to support practical development work.

Our education, consultation and development services also rest on a firm scientific basis. Our experts actively follow up on international and domestic development in the field. FAIDD is a knowledgeable and reliable partner to service providers who wish to develop their personnel, professional skills and services to better meet their clients’ needs. We always carefully look into the specific situation and needs of our customers, and prepare our proposed strategies from that basis.
