FAIDD offers work communities and personnel assessment services to support the organisation and development of services, and in evaluating their quality.

FAIDD also carries out functional and quality of life assessments of persons with intellectual disabilities. In addition, FAIDD performs assessments with clients lacking effective means of communication or with weakening communication skills due to, for example, a progressing illness. FAIDD can also assess whether a client could benefit from the computer as an aid of rehabilitation, writing, studying or work.

Objective assessment supports interaction between the service users and providers and also points out areas of development to focus on in order to improve the quality and impact of services. The FAIDD assessment services help to design and develop services so that they match the support needs in the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities as well as possible.

The assessment service package, perspective and extent of assessment and methods applied in the assessment are tailored according to the customer’s needs. The assessment is always carried out together with the customer.

The work starts with an overview of the customer’s needs and of the current situation of the organisation or work community.

The assessment packages can be combined or used only in part, according to the need at hand. The assessment services are closely linked to the consultation and development work carried out at FAIDD, and an individualised development and consultation process can, upon the customer’s request, be customised to support the assessment.

The goal is that the organisations and work communities that use the assessment services can easily apply and utilise the generated information in their own activities.
